First off thank you to another volunteer fire department whose members strive to save strangers regardless of RACE, age, sex or nationality. Once again thank you to those who try to remember the past. Not in a hurtful or harmful way, but as a remembrance of those that were good. Not all in the past, if I should remind EVERYONE, was a public shaming or lynching because of your color.... That flag stands for multiple reasons whether you are too ignorant to realize this or not. I'm not trying to start a rediculos rant or rave like all narrow-minded Americans seem to like when it comes to the Confederate flag.... but just think if you are against it & push that group to stop/withhold certain funding.... your not hurting the firemen/women.... your taking away safety the people of that fire district deserve & expect. That flag has not hurt anyone by being on that fire department. You take away the money (that does not pay salary or wages) from that fire department & you could certainly show how much you care for the citizens of that district when they need that response. We teach to not bully in school.... we teach that everyone is equal... so why now do we bully those to see "the right way".... & threaten them... & those of all people who put their own lives in danger at any given moment to protect a stranger regardless of like said before.... RACE, age, sex or nationality. Thank you guys down there for going your job & stand strong.
