We've visited twice. The location and decor is funky and definitely not corporate. Service is attentive. The restaurant is clean. For the mountains, fresh, 5 star seafood.
The first time, we had the good fortune to enjoy 75 cent oysters on the half shell. They were fresh and delicious, as were the peel peel & eat shrimp.
This week, we tried the all you can cat fish and shrimp ($18). It was available fried, broiled or blackened. I tried it fried. The catfish was perfectly cooked and lightly breaded. The shrimp was a little bigger than popcorn sized, deliciously cooked and lightly breaded. These were not frozen products! My companion had the fish and chips, a beer battered catfish ($8). She said it was excellent and the batter light. I agree. Excellent homemade, hand cut fries and crisp coleslaw.
The deck in back is comfortable with a nice creek. It reminds me of a joint you would see on dinners, drive-ins and dives. For the mountains of western North Carolina, 5 seafood. We will make this part of our dining for years to come!
